Computer test of 105 amp alternator

alternatorAlternator Output

On the left you will see the print-out that came with my new alternator i bought for my truck. it's rated at 105 amps. That does not mean it puts out 105 amps all the time. You can see on the graph that it only reaches 105 amps at 4000 rpms. Now i don't dive this truck at 4000 rpms around town or on the highway. Since i don't have a tach i would guess at 65 mph it is only turning somewhere around 2200 to 2500 rpms. So at 2500 rpms it is only putting out about 80 amps, which is plenty. What I'm trying to get across is your alternator may be rated at 105 amps or less but most of the time it never reaches the max output.

The chart does not show if there is an increase in output under a load. The alternator does not repond to the amp being pulled but to the decease in battery voltage. If the voltage drops then the alternator will increase out in voltage and i assume ever how many amps need to maintain the correct volt of the system.

Working with a HHo generator requires lots of testing in order to get the prefect system.
